We are up for the challenge, are you

During September we are asking patients, public, partners and staff whether they are up for the challenge of helping us do things differently in Lewisham.   People are living longer with more complicated health conditions and demand for health care is rising but the money is not.  We need to do things differently to meet these challenges and deliver our plans to improve health and deliver the best possible care from high quality, safe and affordable services in Lewisham.

This conversation with our partners, patients and local communities will help inform and shape our future plans.  It also fits with the Government's national 'Call to action' which sets out how the NHS needs to change to meet the challenges ahead to  ensure it is around for future generations.

Dr Marc Rowland, Chair of the CCG, "As the organisation responsible for planning, buying and monitoring healthcare in Lewisham, we have made a commitment to local people that we will involve them in our plans to make sure we have better health, best care and best value for services in Lewisham.  We have worked closely with partners on the Lewisham Health and Wellbeing Board when developing our five year commissioning strategy plan.  This also included listening to what our patients told us when deciding our priorities. We are now asking you to work with us again to see what we can do differently together to help overcome some of the challenges we face here in Lewisham -  which are shared across the whole of the NHS".

We would be grateful if you could pass this message on to your friends, colleagues and neighbours to give us their views.  The more people who respond, the better health services will become.
