Video consultations for cardiology patients

CNN filming a doctor trialing the new cardiology patients video consultation service.jpgEarlier this month Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT) launched a video consultation pilot for cardiology patients. The new service is a huge boon for patients who can often be afflicted by shortness of breath, swollen ankles, fatigue, chest pain (angina or palpitations), dizziness or fainting. With the option of now being seen remotely, they can now get the specialist advice they need without the hassle of travelling to hospital. 

This new video consultancy service is the first from an NHS Trust in the country. This innovative feet was recognised by CNN International. Who filmed the service in action for their upcoming documentary series ‘Innovative Cities’, which is to be screened sometime in March 2019.

If a patient would rather see a doctor in person or they don’t have the equipment to to use the new service, hospital appointments will still be made available.

The new video consultancy service, utilises a system called Q doctor. This is an online video doctor service that can be accessed from your PC or smartphone.
