NHS Lewisham CCG publishes annual report and accounts 2017/18

Lewisham NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has published its annual report and accounts for 2017/2018, in which we describe how we have fulfilled our duties as laid down in the National Health Service Act 2006 and the work we are doing to improve the health and care of people who live in Lewisham.

The document details all of our activities including access to primary care, urgent and emergency care services, work with the Lewisham Health and Care Partners Programme to integrate local services, public consultations, new services, cancer services and mental health services.

We are particularly pleased with our diabetes care, dementia care and mental health work which were rated 'outstanding' and 'good' by NHS England through the Improvement and Assurance Framework (IAF).

From April 2017 under delegated commissioning arrangements we assumed full responsibility for contractual GP performance management, budget management and the design and implementation of local incentive schemes. We have met all of our statutory financial duties, as well as delivering a 2.4% cumulative surplus and ensured compliance with prompt invoice payment requirements against the Better Practice Payments Code (BPPC).

Andrew Bland, Accountable Officer for NHS Lewisham CCG said: "There have been so many changes this year, and along with change comes challenge. I am so proud of the work we have done in Lewisham and south east London to meet the needs of our population. There are certainly areas which we will focus on to improve, and we will continue to work hard to improve services with the resources we have, we know this won't be easy but we will be working with our partners, providers and neighbouring CCGs to ensure we can get best value for care we provide".
