NHS Lewisham CCG has appointed KPMG as its local external auditors from 1 April 2017 for a period of three years with the option to extend for a further two.

The Local Auditor Panel followed a robust process to appoint a new auditor, including evaluation and scoring of tenders received and presentations by bidders against the CCG's criteria. The CCG's Governing Body accepted the advice and recommendation of its Local Auditor Panel on appointing KPMG as follows. KPMG:

  • are judged to deliver the best value for money
  • propose a clear risk based approach
  • demonstrated knowledge of NHS Lewisham through their work as internal auditors
  • illustrated a good understanding of both the local south-east London and national (e.g. improvement and assessment framework) issues affecting the CGG and their audit.
