Measles – make sure your children are immunised
Measles is a highly infectious viral illness. It can be very unpleasant and possibly lead to serious complications.
Vaccination is the best protection against measles. Currently, there is no measles outbreak in Lewisham, but it is worth taking the opportunity to remind parents to make sure that their children’s vaccinations are up to date.
Parents should ensure their children are protected against measles, mumps and rubella with two doses of MMR vaccine. However, if your child is over one year old and you are not sure that they have received their vaccinations - please contact your GP and make an appointment as soon as possible.
Find out more about measles and how you can protect your child with the MMR on the Lewisham Council website.
