Choose well this Christmas

The London Ambulance Service has been receiving very high numbers of calls in recent weeks and is expecting to be under further pressure over the Christmas and New Year period.

Every 999 call goes through a clinical triage system, so that the service can prioritise its response to the most seriously ill and injured patients and should you need to call for an ambulance for someone who needs emergency medical treatment, you should continue to do so in the normal way. However, in order to help the ambulance service manage the high level of demand on the 999 system, please do not automatically request an ambulance for patients with more minor conditions or injuries.
